Total time: 60m deliberate + 20m goofing
5 mins – Dashing SH practice
Notes: Did it both left and right. Getting very boring. Need to add in
20 mins – vs 4.05 Fox BF
Notes: Had 4 shots of coffee today. Can’t focus or find motivation to try at all. I think excessive caffeine is bad for my performance and I should avoid coffee/energy drinks at tournament
20 mins – Running SH forward drills on Homerun
Notes: Would run to 4,000/5,000 with a mix of run SH forward and dash SH forward then do the opposite on the way back. Ended up with a success rate of 60-80%
15 mins – vs 4.05 Fox on FD, Retreating SH practice
Notes: While I couldn’t execute a running retreating SH the standing retreating SH’s came quite easily and this CHANGES THE DYNAMIC of the fox matchup. I can now control space a lot better and play a lot safer.
10 mins – vs 3.02 fox upthrow DI drill
Notes: Only able to get the DI basically if I preempt the grab. If a grab takes me by surprise I get no DI and I can’t smash DI the upair
10 mins – Reading
Notes: Read about smash DI’ing foxes up throws (need to practice this) as well as wobble’s article on his approach and why wobbling “narrows the way the mind sees the game”. I love this concept and always want to be expanding my options and the way I see the game.
